What's New in This Version
The latest version of the Intel Image Processing Library is version 1.0. The
improvements to the Image Processing Library version 1.0 made since the final beta release are
the following:
- Bugs fixed in iplZoom, iplReduceBits,
iplSet, and iplConvolveSep2D
- Addition of the function iplNorm
- Performance enhancements to the Pentium® Pro processor version
Revision History of Beta Versions
The Intel Image Processing Library went through three beta releases previous to the current final
release of version 1.0. The following lists summarize the improvements made to each beta release
as a result of beta testing.
The Intel Image Processing Library 1.0 beta 3 included the following new features
(compared to beta 2, the previous version):
- Performance of HSV and HLS conversions improved by 50-250%
- IPL Image Editor expanded--now supports multiple bit depths and functions, most DIB formats,
image resizing, multiple windows, and border mode
- Performance optimizations for zoom with linear interpolation
- DIB support expanded to include BI_BITFIELDS compression
- Bug fixes
The Intel Image Processing Library 1.0 beta 2 included the following new features
(compared to 1.0 beta, the previous version):
- A Pentium® II processor supplement. This new DLL contains functions
specifically optimized for the Pentium II processor.
- Adobe* Photoshop* plug-in capability
- A tool for performance measurement included with the files ipldemos.exe or ipl.exe
- More optimization for the Blur and Convolve2D functions
- Performance enhancements for the Rotate function
- Documentation enhancements, including Appendix A, "Supported Image Attributes and Modes."
